Wild overnight weather grounded 5 Greenland White-fronted Geese at Eoligarry and at least 70 Whooper Swans around Barra. Our biggest surprise was a Puffin standing in the road by the airport! The lingering Siberian Chiffchaff at Castlebay was less unexpected.

A nice little arrival of migrants on Barra today including another Red-breasted Flycatcher at Creachan plus our first Siberian Chiffchaff of the autumn at Castlebay along with a Waxwing and a Rook!

On a windy Sunday last week Ranger Steve, Bruce and Kathy did an excellent job of cleaning Bagh nan Clach, Scurrival. 26kg was collected. Mostly plastic but also 20plus gun cartridges and a piece of carpet. Another great job done! There will be no shoreline clean this weekend.
