I spoke to @pbearneITV for @ITVCentral this evening on the unprecedented ban Reform have issued against Nottinghamshire Live. ITV took a stance by giving this item top billing on their Central bulletin, devoting eight minutes to the issue in total. This won’t go away.

A Coroner has rejected calls to open an inquest - Cumberland Infirmary say they’re in contact with the family and extend their deepest sympathies to them.

- He was given a large dose of insulin before he died, without the knowledge of the diabetes team. His family say he slipped into a coma as a result. - It’s alleged he had to lie in his own faeces, and nurses didn’t know how to clean his wound.

- Despite a scan showing Mr Trotter had a swollen bladder, a catheter wasn’t fitted for ten days. Doctor’s notes suggest he could have developed sepsis. - He received multiple diagnoses at hospital - leading to one doc saying his leg shouldn’t have been amputated
