We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day in school tomorrow. Children can come dressed as a character from a book. We would also like them to bring their favourite book into school to share with friends from other classes during the reading cafe. #WorldBookDay2023

Year 6 Art. Year 6 have been busy with their CUSP curriculum work this week which has involved printing in art. They have taken a small part of a larger landscape and indented the image onto polystyrene tile. Using different coloured paint they have added detail to the image.

As the school term draws to a close, may we take this opportunity to wish all of our children, families and members of the Barlby Bridge community a happy and peaceful Christmas season. Tuesday 3 January is a staff training day and school opens to pupils on Wednesday 4 January.

Anti-Bullying week launches tomorrow with Odd Socks Day. Children can wear odd and bright coloured socks to school to mark the start of this important week.

We are celebrating the success of our Year 5 and 6 footballers who absolutely did the school proud in the football tournament against three local schools. BBS Vs Carlton 8-0 . BBS Vs Hemingbrough 4 - 1. BBS Vs Riccall 4 -2 .We are so proud of them all. Great work team BBS!

What a difference a day makes…. We have had some helping hands in school today. The wonderful Network Rail team consisting of 15 volunteers have completed a community based project day improving our Forest Schools and KS1 outdoor space. We are so grateful! Before and after pics

The children have all really enjoyed competing in our mini-marathon charity event. Each class has joined in, with the children running or walking 2.6 miles in total. Thank you so much for the support in collecting sponsors for @ParkinsonsUK @MindCharity

Thank you so much for supporting our fundraising morning last week. We raised £123.50 in total which will be spilt between MacMillan Cancer Support and Candlelighters. Donations are still live on School Money for anyone still wishing to contribute.

A reminder that it is our Macmillan and Candlelighter’s fundraising morning on Thursday. Children can come in non-uniform (yellow or gold colours if possible) for a small donation. We would be grateful of any bought or made cakes sent to school on Thursday morning.

Recycling Week. From Tuesday 20th September, the school will be working with @GreencoreGroup to promote Recycling week. There will be a recycling competition and members of the team will be coming in to lead assemblies and provide focus activities for each class.
