May your issue statement be clear. May your legal rules be complete but not over complete. And accurate enough. May your analysis be thorough and logical. May your conclusion be…whatever… it doesn’t matter all that much. But state one.

It’s the interest on student loans that destroys people.
I actually don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect people to pay back the money they’ve borrowed. But what’s so wrong with people arguing that they should be relieved from the excessive penalty that the government has

I do take issue with posts I’m seeing from lawyers on here at elite law firms stating that they’d never ask a candidate for an LSAT score. When choosing to interview at select schools only, the LSAT scores are *heavily baked into that decision. Top schools are filled with 170s+!

Only fair, though, to also consider that if schools admit students without the LSAT, they run the risk of admitting students into their school who don't know that if Alan is on a team with Ben, and if Ben cannot be on a team with Carla, then Alan cannot be on a team with Carla.

The cost to attend Columbia Law School for 3 years, as stated by the school on its website, all costs included, and this very well may vary per person since expenses vary, is now closer to $400,000 than to $300,000.
These numbers are --no joke--.

An excellent point made by one of the 15 students in Kentucky who was first told he passed and then told he failed the bar. If he made an error through his own negligence/recklessness, causing similar economic harm to a client, he'd likely be disciplined by the bar for doing so.

A reminder that the next time law school graduates will be eligible to take the exam required for them to obtain employment as a lawyer is in 7 months.
Non law people: ^ that’s not a typo. 7 months. As in more than 1/2 a year.
And then a 2nd reminder that that’s insane.

I have an LSAT student who is improving at a pace I don't normally see. He's gone up 21 points in the few weeks I've worked with him. Started 144, now 165.
I asked how he's done this.
"I've done coding my entire life, and this test is like coding but with words."

Tucker Carlson called on his show for President Biden to reveal Ketanji Brown Jackson’s LSAT score. Prove your LSAT score to become a Supreme Court Justice. His rationale: according to Carlson, the score would prove whether Biden was correct in calling her a top legal mind.

Very open to opposing views on this, but it's interesting to me that most go through an entire 1L Contracts class without ever drafting at least a basic contract.

My hot take is that lots of lawyers who enjoy the logic of legal reasoning would have enjoyed math more if it had been taught with a heavier focus on mathematical reasoning. There's a well-known math book called "The Art of Problem Solving" that is night and day different than…
Buy the whole tomatoes in a can (less expensive than pre-made sauce.) Crush them with your hands. Add some garlic and onion to a pot with olive oil on low to medium heat. Add the tomatoes, and a bit of salt. Bring to a boil, then let it simmer.

Every time I hear a practicing attorney say that if they practiced law in the way that the bar exam tests the law they'd be subject to malpractice, I think about how crazy it is that that's true. Imagine a lawyer just insanely trying to practice all those areas of law on memory.

Bar Exam PTSD is a thing. It’s a combination of the uncertainty as to whether you’ll need to do it again even though you did everything you could to avoid that, and simply trying to return to a normal existence without the cloud of the exam hanging over you at all times.

Anyone who argues that the bar exam should not be open book should not also argue that it’s a test of legal analysis and not memorization. In arguing both points you’d be contradicting yourself. If it’s in fact a test of legal analysis then allow students to consult the law.

The next bar is 7 months from now. I know there are many who’d like the test abolished, but assuming that’s not in the cards right now, it’s crazy to have people wait more than 1/2 a year to retake a licensing exam. Everything about how this test test is administered is so 🤪.

I don’t often opine on the debate as to whether or not to take classes in law school if the only reason for taking them is because they are tested on the bar. Except this:
Take Evidence. You might be brilliant and also great at self-teaching yourself law. Still, take Evidence.

If the Feb. bar results continue to come back with such abysmal numbers (haven’t seen anything above about mid 50% pass rate) is it not reasonable to wonder whether the test and not those taking it is the cause? A flawed exam would seem just as likely to produce these results.
