@deepakshenoy Soft drink giants. brands like Thums Up, Coke, Pepsi rules every part of India except Dakshina Kannada(Udupi, Mangalore dist). They have several local brands that dominate. Salute to the Giant Killers of Udupi, Mangalore. Contd. .

I wonder why people refer to Tulunadu by generic names like coastal Karnataka or Karavali. Tulunadu people are indeed uplifting Kannada film industry but the reverse is not true😭.
#SuFromSo .Works superbly because of .1. Self deprecating humour of the coastal Karnataka artistes. (they were caricatures in older Kannada movies) - they use their dialect, language, accent and more to deliver comic punches without needing to be desperately comical.2. Socially.

Is this fair expectation folks?.- correct the misnaming of Dakshina Kannada district.- while referring to Tulunadu, stop calling it as Coastal Karnataka.- don't create myth of Mangalore Kannada dialect for the Kannada spoken in Tulu style (with those not knowing Tulu).
