Today we woke up to the sad news that our President and number one supporter had died. Rest in peace Ger Flanagan. Our sincere sympathy to his wife Patty, sons, daughters, sons in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, great grandson, and his wider family.
Congratulations to Maurice Sheridan on being appointed as the Mayo U20 football manager. We at Mayo Gaa would like to take the opportunity to wish Maurice and his backroom team the very best of luck in the 2021 season.

On this day in 2013 our climb to the Senior ranks of Mayo football officially started after our mens team won promotion from Division 5 to Division 4 of the Mayo Senior Leagues, defeating Kiltane B in Westport.
The start of some journey!
We are delighted to announce the appointment of joint managers, Declan Sweeney and Alan Nolan to the men’s senior football team for 2023.
Declan and Alan were selectors on last year’s management team and have taken over from the outgoing Ger Butler.

As a mark of respect for the late Det Garda Colm Horkan, the Balla GAA club flag will be displayed at Balla Garda station at twelve noon tomorrow and club members as well as members of the community are welcome to attend and observe the minutes silence.

This day 135 years ago - 1 November 1884 - Maurice Davin, Michael Cusack and six others met in Hayes' Hotel, Thurles, Co Tipperary, to found an organisation “for the preservation and cultivation of our national pastimes.”
It became known as the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
A massive congrats to our chairman, Mr Gerry O’Neill, who celebrated his retirement as Chief Executive of South West Mayo Development Co this week.
After joining the company in 1992, Gerry served the South West with distinction until this week.
