Python packaging and distribution only gets harder the deeper you look. If you think it's easy, and @charliermarsh doesn't, you probably haven't gone deep enough yet. This thread is a great intro into the long term impact of shipping in Linux distros (my summary below)
python-build-standalone has exploded in popularity, with over 70M downloads all-time. But what is a "standalone" Python build? It wasn't obvious to me at first! Initially, I didn't understand what problem was being solved or why it mattered...
