Our 2nd XI earned victory in a high-scoring thriller at home to Lions earlier today. Charlie Cook starred with a wonderful century in Backworth’s innings of 246-8, before an all-round bowling effort sealed the win. Well done, team! 💪🏽

Our Academy XI slipped to defeat at home to Ryton this afternoon, despite 3-19 from Laura Morgan and a first senior wicket for junior bowler Ethan Charlton. 🏏

They’re back… After a few weeks, it’s a DOUBLE WIN SATURDAY! 💪🏽 Another masterful innings from skipper Adam Mooney guided our 2nd XI to a narrow victory at home to Wooler this evening. 🙌🏽

Our 1st XI snatched victory in an incredibly tense contest @SeatonBurnCC today! 🙌🏽 Despite being bowled out for just 115, the team fought back sensationally with ball in hand to skittle the hosts ten runs short of their target. Get in there! 🏏

Our 2nd XI fell to defeat in a rain-reduced game away at Mitford this afternoon, despite 43 from skipper Adam Mooney. Unlucky, team. 🤝🏽 Meanwhile, our 1st XI’s home match against Tillside was rained off. Only 15 overs were possible before the weather intervened. 🌧️

Our Midweek XI beat the weather to record an impressive victory at home to Blyth this evening. 💪🏽 A brilliant all-round bowling performance restricted the visitors to just 72 from their 20-over allocation - before 41 not out from Joshua Blake steered the team home. Top stuff! 🏏

Our Academy XI came out on the wrong side of another Sunday thriller at Boldon this evening. 🏏 Rob Stobie’s gritty innings of 29 saw Backworth scramble their way to a respectable total, but a strong last-wicket stand saw the hosts home by the barest of margins. 🤝🏽

It was a difficult afternoon for our 1st XI today, as they slipped to a heavy defeat at Corbridge despite an unbeaten innings of 74 from Steven Clarke. 🏏
