If it’s true that God is humanized by us, is it also true that he’s humanized by me in a way that can only be wrought by me? God cannot be God without me, because God cannot be God until he’s God of all and in all? (And I, humble knave that I am, am counted among the all.).

It is wild to me that in English adjectives must go in a very specific order otherwise you "sound weird". What's even more wild is how native speakers don't even thinking about this order. They just "feel it".

Of course, we should take the first option, and then we should be very curious as to why the actions of these saints was seen as being so good, holy, etc.

So either we should think that God does not want us to sin and so does not want us to suffer, or He does want us to sin and to suffer, or He does not want us to sin *but He does want us to suffer*, since if we do not suffer in this life we surely will in the next. Suffermaxxing.

🧵 The most extreme saint you've never heard of - Meet St. Dominic Loricatus (995-1060), a medieval monk whose "penance" was so brutal it defies belief. This is the story of religious devotion taken to absolutely horrifying extremes.

There’s almost thirty people waiting for the local library to open (a healthy smattering too of the homeless, families, single individuals, etc). You love to see it.

I taught middle school for a decade and would see 6th grade girls passing these books around between them. Many get exposed even before 6th grade. The books would never make it home so often the parents had no idea.
