We were very pleased to welcome a group of parents to the Primary Training Hub today. They worked with Louise and Lois from the SEND Support service to explore strategies to help their children manage sensory regulation. We look forward to the next session in June.

Delegates who completed the 3 day “First Aid at Work” course today are now qualified First Aiders. Thank you to Nigel for teaching the practical skills which staff require in order to respond effectively to emergency situations in their schools or workplace.

The impact of parental conflict on children was the focus of training this afternoon. Rosa from NCC Children’s Services delivered a thought-provoking presentation & shared a toolkit of actions to support practitioners when working with children in schools.

Numicon trainer, Lisa Lalor, worked with teachers & maths leaders today to explore how Numicon can support the development of mathematical fluency, reasoning & problem solving across the whole school. This was a great practical session with lots of ideas to take back into schools

Today, a group of teachers from across the BW Trust completed the "Development of Teaching Practice Award". Over the Autumn Term they have benefited from great collaborative working & enjoyed expert facilitation from Charlotte to develop evidence informed teaching practice.

Many thanks to Rachel from Maplefields Outreach Service for delivering an excellent session at the PTHub today. Rachel helped staff to understand the barriers to learning for pupils with ADHD & SEMH needs & shared support strategies which were very well received by all delegates.

Thank you to Nigel for delivering Emergency First Aid Training today. Delegates were taught the practical skills needed by first aiders, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies in schools such as choking or asthma attacks.

Staff from BWT secondary schools attended Read Write Inc.Fresh Start training, practising how to read & blend sounds correctly under the expert tuition of the Read,Write Inc.trainer @RuthMiskinEdu. This knowledge will help staff to support students who have gaps in reading skills

Thank you to Dean Coady for delivering a hard-hitting presentation for safeguarding leads. He spoke in depth & with brutal honesty about the effects of gang and drug related crime on young people & gave strategies for schools to address this. A very thought provoking session!
