In our science learning we have been completing experiments using our 5 senses. We've had blind folded target practice, a name that instrument challenge based on the sound it makes, taste and smell tests on different foods in Year 1 @BVCSchool

In RWI lessons this week, it has been wonderful to hear children reading speedily with their partner. This pair worked together cooperatively to help each other with any tricky words. @BVCSchool

Year 6 have been immersing themselves in the world of art, exploring the inspiring work of Antony Gormley, David Briggs, and Michael Lang. They've designed vehicle sketches, created dynamic 3D paintings and now planning their own expressive sculptures. #Year6Art @BVCSchool

Y5 are continuing with their fantastic art work. Sketching skills included using different pencil pressures, different pencils for lighting effects plus smudging & subtraction. We've been studying the artist, Frida Kahlo. YD sketched this amazing portrait of her. @BVCSchool

We have been very lucky to have a paramedic visit F2 this week. We learned about what they do and how they help people who are poorly. Some children also got to try out some very special gadgets! @BVCSchool

Continuing art topic this term in Year 1, we have progressed to using the media of clay. We have implemented a variety of techniques in our learning. Including rolling, pinching and scoring the clay with tools. So had so much fun. @BVCSchool

Shout out to all of our students! Last week we had a fantastic attendance for the start of the year all above 85% in class. F2 Beech were our infant winners with 99.17%! Y6 Sycamore were our junior winners with 98.89%! Amazing results #TeamBVCS

In Science, Y1 have been naming, drawing and labelling basic parts of the human body. We've focused on naming the features of our faces. First we pulled labels of body parts out of our mystery box, then we worked in groups to label a blank face. We had so much fun! @BVCSchool
