Our U8 Blues returned from their Christmas break with a tough challenge at a well-organised Thurlby Tigers. On a freezing cold morning the team didn’t take long to get warmed up and showed some nice touches and good teamwork. πŸ† POTM was Ethan who had some positive running.

U14 Girls manager Luke was really proud of the girls this weekend - outstanding work rate in the first half & moved the ball brilliantly. The Pilgrims dipped a little after the break but dug deep in the final 10min to get the winner. POTM Molly was rock solid from start to finish

Our U13 Girls played Ancaster Athletic at the weekend. The girls did brilliantly after not playing a match for six weeks. An entertaining game that ended 3-3. Ancaster could have won, but well done to the Pilgrims for a great performance against the top of the league team.

U14 Girls had a tough test with only 11 players vs a strong Grimsby side with five subs. Slow first half, the girls didn't quite get their game going but they showed real character in the second half. The work rate was outstanding and the girls played some really good football.

Coaches Sam, Adam and Alex were so proud of the girls who never gave up, and would like to wish the girls and parents a wonderful Christmas and a Great New Year. Both teams also held a one minute silence for Jamie Covington from Crowland who lost his life to cancer.

Our U12 girls travelled to Deeping United for their last game of the year, led out by captain Darcy. Two early goals saw the girls go behind, but their heads never dropped. We conceded a penalty, which our keeper saved. Deeping scored with a few minutes to go to make it 4-3.

Our U14 Ambers faced a tough test in the County Cup against Holbeach United, a side currently sitting second in the league above us. Despite the result (BUFC 3–4 Holbeach United) this was a performance the players can take great pride in. Rea the full match report in photos.

πŸ† POTM was Bradley, who was outstanding in defence. His thoughtful positioning helped keep the team organised at the back, and he showed great confidence playing out from defence, starting attacks calmly and sensibly. A great way for the team to sign off before Christmas! 3/3

U8 Ambers put in a terrific all-round performance against YDP, showing great attitude and effort from the first whistle to the last. On a tricky pitch, the team applied themselves brilliantly. They tried to play good football, working hard to move the ball & make right decisions.

The scoreline did not reflect the effort of the team who worked really hard. Another learning curve, but the coaches were proud of how the players worked as a unit, work rate & desire to compete, applying what they've learned in training over the last few weeks. 3/4

We played our way in moments which saw us equalise. Second half, the Pilgrims slowly dropped intensity and concentration levels, and holes appeared in midfield. This saw players drawn out of position as the efforts and energy the team had put in started to show. 2/4

A test for our U14 Blacks against a very good undefeated team Discoveries in the County Cup. The first 10 minutes allowed the opposition midfield to dictate and the first goal was conceded. Once the team settled & communicated, we were able to stop them playing. 1/4
