Thank you to all of the
@ParkRoadJuniors
staff, boys and parents for all your hard work this term. It has been a strange one but you’ve all been marvellous. Have a great, relaxing and healthy summer
The Park Road Spring Concert was scheduled for today. The boys had been working very hard towards it and had loved learning their Beatles Medley. Oh go on then, here’s a quick snippet...enjoy!
Plenty of
#WBD2022
excitement
@BSPDJnrBoys
this morning.
Many thanks to parents (& staff) for shopping trips, sewing sessions & frantic house searches in order to put costumes together.
Some great book-based sessions organised by
@MrFBoltonSchool
for the boys to enjoy
Wishing
@winstanley_mrs
a fond farewell and good luck for the future today. Thank you for everything you have done for Park Road. You will be missed! 💐
A quick game of last man standing during our XL SUP. Not sure if kneeling counts or not but Mr Livesley certainly didn’t have his sea legs
@Patterdale_Hall
A final assembly filled with song as the
@ParkRoadJuniors
boys belted out their Beatles Medley. Also a time to remind ourselves of the values and attributes that our school badge means for us. Even if you're not wearing it every day boys - don't forget:
Great to see some familiar faces from Y6 back
@ParkRoadJuniors
this morning. They all skipped into school and have settled nicely into the new routine. Interestingly, Lockdown seems to have made quite a few a lot taller.

After 18 years of service the boys and staff of
@ParkRoadJuniors
said a sad farewell to dinner lady Carol. We all wish her a long and happy retirement.
Hello Yellow assembly! Raising awareness of mental well-being. The boys enjoyed a lively assembly led by Mr Livesley. Over £200 pounds raised so far. Can we beat our total from last year? Another £400 to go…
Very proud of our Year 5 and 6 boys for their respectful behaviour and reflective interest during the entire trip. A huge thank you also to Mr Morris for organising and leading it so well.
Well done to all who played in
@EPSCAChess
regional qualifier yesterday, a great day of chess. Congratulations to our U11 boys who won their group and our U9s who were both 1st and 2nd
Well done to all of the boys
@ParkRoadJuniors
and the girls of
@BoltonJnrGirls
for their efforts in this afternoon’s House Cross-Country races. Real determination and teamwork on show in wet and muddy conditions. Some sore legs and hot baths tonight!
These fine young chaps
@ParkRoadJuniors
are passionate about environmental matters and have been regularly volunteering to pick litter during their breaks. Well done boys! Keep up the good work.

Dave Baguley, founder of
@UrbanOutreachUK
came to assembly this morning to be presented with the cheque from the sales of our 2022 calendar. Big thanks to
@winstanley_mrs
for thinking of & managing this great project and to all of our families for their engagement.👏👏👏⭐️
We are extremely proud of our Quiz Team who competed in the postponed National General Knowledge Championship Finals hosted by
@QuizClubUK
last week. Well done on gaining 25th place out of 502 schools overall boys!
To all the
@ParkRoadJuniors
boys (and parents) wondering what tomorrow will be like with Directed Learning starting for all - don’t worry, you’ll be great and your teachers are all ready to help you. Remember to register via the email link and then settle in for the first lesson.
Well done to all of the
@ParkRoadJuniors
boys, parents and staff who have made our first day of Directed Learning so successful. Not an easy task, but all efforts appreciated.
This year our staff team will be joined by Mr Grieve who will be teaching PE and Sport alongside Mr Duxbury. We are very pleased to have him with us and he is looking forward to meeting the boys tomorrow. Welcome to
@ParkRoadJuniors
@BoltonSchool
An early start for the boys and staff of
@ParkRoadJuniors
heading off to Ypres tomorrow. Sure it will be a great trip to bring together all that we’ve been learning about this year.
We’ll done to all
@ParkRoadJuniors
boys, staff and parents for their hard work this week as we’ve established good virtual learning habits. Enjoy the weekend
A great day of Water Polo for
@BoltonSchool
teams today
@CoMWPC
- U14 team finished third, U12B team finished 9th and U12A finished 2nd, losing out in a tense final. Well done to all players and thank you to the supporters who cheered the boys and girls on.
Boys loving their Yoga sessions this morning. They should be nice and calm now for the afternoon😀
Many thanks to
@Hayley5184
for providing some great lessons.
Two of our boys were lucky enough to be invited to see the visit of King Charles at the town hall today. They were invited as representatives of the Beavers and Cub scouts! His Majesty is visiting Bolton to commemorate the 150 year anniversary of the town hall.
1st of December means only one thing...a virtual advent calendar! 🎄 Over the past few weeks boys have been putting together an advent calendar full of fun and exciting images and videos just for you! Enjoy! 🎄🎅
It was a late one, but very much worth it! There were amazing performances across the foundation but we were very proud of the primary students last night! Thanks to the music team for pulling this together!
Final day
@ParkRoadJuniors
for most of Y6 today. Thank you so much to
@juniorboyspa
for the fabulous leavers’ hoodies. The boys all looked very smart watching the virtual assembly and prize giving!
Epic gymnastics final
@BSPDJnrBoys
- well done to all of our competitors and special congratulations to our joint winners, Thomas & Tommy. Huge thanks to guest judge & Olympian
@DanPGymnastics
@ParkRoadJuniors
back and ready for this year's Year 5&6 Cross Country Moss Bank Park League. A brilliant run from all of our boys out of over 300 runners...2nd, 5th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, 62nd & 68th! Fair to say their shoes aren't this clean now!
What a way to end the term. House Cross Country across the Junior schools. There were some excellent performances as well as some fine sportsmanship and great determination.
Well done boys!
Well done
@milankumar2012
- we are all very proud of your achievements in literacy and fundraising. We’re also delighted that you and your
@parkroadjuniors
friends enjoy reading so much. Keep it up
Y3's Fun Friday was extra exciting this morning with a visit from Lieutenant Commander DeMaine, who answered the boys' questions about being a helicopter pilot in the
@RoyalNavy
. Unsurprisingly, almost everyone now has it as their preferred career choice.
Our boys and families are always keen to get involved and do what they can to help others. This is why we are so proud to have been awarded with the Bolton Evening News Schools Fundraiser of the Year award.
Y6 have found a sport that adheres to all of the current rules and regulations...Footgolf! All the energy and physical activity of football combined with the nerves and tension of a long putt on the 18th to beat your opposing team/bubble.
#stayoutoftherough
the weather tomorrow looks good so we have decided to hold our Prizegiving & final assembly outside so we can come together as a whole school for the first and last time this year. This means we won’t be able to live Zoom it but will record & share with parents afterwards
While the boys of
@ParkRoadJuniors
recover from their trip to Ypres, Mrs A has been hard at work bringing together the Y5 boys’ textiles work. Great cross-curricular links being made throughout school, fabulous artwork - each poppy made using a different felt/sewing technique
The Year 4s have had a fantastic time and are now on their way back to school. Thank you
@Patterdale_Hall
for all your help, guidance and support this week! All the boys have had a great time and made some amazing memories
Mr Brown, Head of DT has been joining in the national effort to help with

by 3D printing the face shields at home in a makeshift workshop.
Keeping the printer going 24/7 he hopes to help the fight to save lives and keep the NHS staff safe. 👩🏻⚕️👨🏽⚕️

Fantastic effort from my boys to add a little cheer to the neighbourhood, complete and school house challenge and say 'thank you' to everyone helping to end this nightmare.
