I actually meant to say "there's already been hundreds of citizens' assemblies and the like" but close enough! Here we have started a map of these events, but there are still many more to add:

“There’s already been a hundred Citizens’ Assemblies around the world, more or less. If that becomes thousands and tens of thousands…maybe we’ll learn to do politics differently.” @BSHennig on why low trust in government is paving the way for more citizen participation:

Today I'm in Transylvania to promote #sortition and citizens' assemblies in this part of the world. A friend suggested that if they do a random selection here, alongside age, gender and location they might want to stratify by blood type :)

Is #sortition a "cracked brain idea"? I get a mention on the Canadian Agenda programme that talked about "Fixing Our Democracy" on TVOntario the other night, at about 8:30 before the end - followed by an interesting discussion of sortition's pros and cons.

Do you think the media is part of the problem and not part of the solution? I often do. Which is why I'm supporting a crowd-funding campaign for an English-language edition of @The_Corres They're almost at $1m! https://t.co/4Vd8OCa8VV
