Today Y3 learnt about the Ancient Egyptian ritual of mummification by having a go at mummifying a tomato. They washed their fruit, scooped out the major organs, used salt to dry it out, stuffed it to help keep its shape & then wrapped it in banadages. 🤕

We were super busy learning during our Year 3 Egypt day. Finally, we enjoyed some hunting by the River Nile. Beware of those hippos!

We were super busy learning during our Year 3 Egypt day. Our next task involves measuring just like the Ancient Egyptian’s would have done. We then had some leisure time, so enjoyed a game of hounds and jackals.

We were super busy learning during our Year 3 Egypt day. We started off with a short talk highlighting key events in Egypt’s ancient history. We then did our own investigating by finding out amazing facts with a quiz.

Y8 Global Citizerns made the Prep School a Blooket to test our knowledge on BHM. We have been finding out about inspirational black women who changed many aspects of the world from Beauty to Science to Afro-futurism to simply changing unfair experiences for black women.

Today, Y3’s experimenting was all about the key word, ‘hardwearing’. We wanted to find out which material was the most hardwearing, so we could choose the correct fabrics for high impact jobs. Which material would best suit an astronaut, firefighter or a scientist? 🧱🥼🦺

Anyone need a trim? Y3 have been working confidently with unit and non unit fractions. They then used these strategies to work out how much of a hair cut to give their clients. ✂️💇♀️

Today Y3 looked at Pyramids, the evolution & mistakes made along the way. Y3 then tried building. It was great to see them reflect on their own strategies & mistakes. They realised that they needed to plan & use support from within. This then led to them posing relevant questions

Keeping things cool 😎 Year 3 were experimenting again with insulators. This time we decided to focus on layers. We wrapped ice cubes in different amounts of paper towel. Which ice cube do you think melted the quickest? Ask Year 3! They have all the facts and figures.
