Further to our video yesterday, we would like to pass on a huge thank you to our friends at The Buccaneer Aviation Group and Andy Webber. Without their kind assistance, moving 597 would not have been possible.

XT597 went on `walkabout` on Saturday 5th July when BPAG were invited to display the aircraft at a private event at Cotswold Airport. We can`t confirm for sure, but this may well have been the longest tow activity 597 has undertaken since retiring from RAF service.

A regular contributor to our cause, Miss Treedonor reached out to BPAG recently and kindly donated this hard-to-find Inboard Engine Control Panel. If you have anything hiding away in the loft or garage that you think may benefit the group, please email secretary@bpag.co.uk

Carrying on with our Phantom F-4J(UK) ZE360 timeline history, this collection of images depicts a tiny portion of the preparatory work to detach the J79 engines from the aircraft so that they could be removed. This was carried out between October 2021 and March 2023.

We are always pleased to assist our international members whenever possible, and during last week's work party, we were delighted to welcome Marc and Christ’l Schoeters from the Netherlands. Both Marc and Christ’l conveyed their sincere gratitude for the time and effort given.

Relocating ZE360 from the Fire school to the live side of Manston Airport meant clearing the old entrance gate of foliage and debris, planning for roads to be closed and navigating the Phantom through some very narrow lanes back in April 2021.

We listed this Phantom Nose Landing Gear Ground-lock yesterday. It is signed by a number of well known RAF Phantom aircrew and would be the perfect for any Phantom enthusiasts mancave. Check out the listing and more details on the BPAG eBay store.

Another amazing donation to the group comes in the form of this Throttle Quadrant removed from XV423 and given to BPAG member Graham Hall when he left Wattisham in 1992/93.

Remembering that time back in 2021 when we had to relocate ZE360 from the fire pit to the exit gate via the Manston sports field after being advised that there may be possible unmarked World War Two air raid shelters underneath it. It was an interesting day. !
