This morning I can sadly announce that I am out of #whamageddon2025. Just when I least expected it 😢 I had a decent run this year though.

Interesting. The 2 times I’ve seen Rosalía in the UK before the audience was (at a guess) 90% Spanish Now she’s adding extra dates is that because Brits are finally getting into her? I already have tickets for the tour, but not in the UK! So I’ll still be in a foreign audience

A better list than last year’s mess. At least most of these could be considered relatively new (unlike last year with Confidence Man, Chappell Roan) It feels more in keeping with previous BBC lists. Glad to see one of my Ones to Watch from a year ago on it (Chloe Qisha)

I love seeing bands I like grow in popularity whilst continuing to make good music. Case in point: I first saw @wolfalicemusic at The Registery pub in Portsmouth in 2013 (their 1st headline show outside London). Tonight I’m watching them play London’s O2!

I’ve been asked a couple of times if I’m doing my usual Ones to Watch list on the blog. Sadly for the first time since 2008 I’m not. The blog has pretty much ground to a halt. However I will post up a list of favourite albums from the year on Dec 31st.

A bit of a double headline for me last night: @WinterGardensUK and @mimiraemusic at @WedgewoodRooms providing some gothic drama and indie rock (with a hint of Americana) tunes respectively, colouring a rainy Southsea Monday.

Amazing. Glad Tim loves The Cords as much as we do at Breaking More Waves HQ!

Since 2013 Victorious Festival have only had men as main stage headliners. Poor. Also Kasabian headlined in 2023, just 3 years ago.
