Johannes Heidenreich, repetiteur at Staatsoper Berlin and lecturer at Hochschule fur Musik in the 1920s. 1932 lost his teaching post and wrote musical reports for Goebbels. When it was discovered that his Aryan certificate was forged, he commited suicide. Rare 1924 recording.

Delighted to acquire this rare disc by Busoni pupil Edward Weiss (1892-1984). Around 50 years later he participated in a Busoni Symposium at the National Sound Archive, the forerunner of the @britishlibrary Sound Archive.

On 9th November Cortot pupil Thierry de Brunhoff will be 90. His EMI recordings were re-issued on CD in 2004. Now a Benedictine monk, Brother Thierry Jean has been at En-Calcat Abbey since 1974. Bon anniversaire!

Violinist Maurice Rubinstein won the 1906 Klindworth-Scharwenka competition and made this disc in Berlin, apparently his only recording. Delighted to acquire this rare disc for the @britishlibrary Sound Archive.
