It was great to sit down with @RealPeterMedlin and talk education, running, and The Blues Brothers! Thanks for the invite!

Does @Desmos have any SAT activities that mirror the new digital SAT test yet?

"There are stars, and then there are solar systems. Caitlin Clark is the latter. ... Everything revolves around Caitlin Clark." Someone doesn’t understand basic astronomy…😂😂

“schools are actually factories that should be implanting knowledge in students”…is the saddest thing I have ever read.

I was 9 years old…had stayed up late to watch Bears win Super Bowl…but we had a snow storm in Pittsburgh and school was canceled on Monday. I was watching it on TV in basement when it exploded. I went upstairs and told my mom and she thought I meant it “went up”…
If you remember the Challenger tragedy, today 1986, and are so inclined, please share how you got the news and how you and those close to you reacted.

We talk about instilling a love of reading in our kids early on, but I don’t often see the same discussion for math. I think it’s similar: make math fun (it’s puzzles and patterns), do it together, do it often, and don’t push a technique they’re not into. Other thoughts? #oklaed

Anyone have students create podcast as an assessment? Looking to do this with astronomy course and looking for rubric ideas and suggestions from those that have done something like this…

Physics Peeps: how many of you do bridge building projects? I kind of took it over when our engineering teacher left…but I am finding the time required to do them well is too much. But on the other hand…studnets LOVE doing them (and so do I). Suggestions? Thoughts?

I think this is the “I need to walk before I can run” approach. Teaching has so many levels and to think that a beginner can walk into a classroom and facilitate using all of those levels is foolish. That said…Randy isn’t wrong.
If you are still teaching “I do, we do, you do” you are successfully teaching mimicry in the math classroom, nothing more. We know better. We need to do better.#mtbos #elemmathchat

The man ain’t lying.
I've been a math educator since 2003 and Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by @pgliljedahl has more potential to improve the way we teach mathematics than any other book I have ever read. I wrote a blog post to share why we should all read it: https://t.co/oWkYbmWvel
