This week the archives staff and volunteers got up close and personal with the North Wing at St Bartholomew's from new angles and heights, & saw the conservation team at work! Big thanks to the @BartsHeritage team for their 'Anatomy of the North Wing' tour

It's #PharmacyTechnicianDay, and what better way to mark it than an archive visit for the St Bartholomew's Hospital pharmacy techs? They found out about the history of dispensing and pharmacy at Bart's, & used items from our handling collection to try their hand at making pills!

#OTD in 1666, the governors of St Bartholomew's Hospital met to discuss 'the Terrible and Unmercifull Fire' which had started the day before. The hospital archives were protected by the governors' order to remove the hospital records to Hornsey for safekeeping! #GreatFireOfLondon

With thanks as ever to @Barts_Charity for supporting us to share the historic collections of our hospitals in new ways🙏.
Fascinating stuff going on in the #archives today! Celeste from @LinConservation is producing 3D scans of objects from our collections selected by Community Curators through our Bringing the Collections Closer project. Coming to digital displays at the Royal London Hospital soon!
