the ones before you opened the door, but you built what country music became. what you’ve done in the last 50 yrs should be celebrated for the creation of the sound and the style that defined modern country music. others have followed your lead, bt no one has ever surpassed it.
50 years ago today I signed my record deal with PolyGram Mercury (now MCA). I was just 20 years old and had some big ol dreams. 44 albums and 50 years later, it’s safe to say those dreams have come true. I am blessed beyond measure. Thank you for the support over the last 50
