"Women have been excluded & underrepresented in the research and decision-making that shape health care. Their voices, ideas, & leadership are not only overdue, but they are also essential to closing the gaps that continue to put women's lives at risk." https://t.co/61eEGGkvJJ

We anchor our programming in community locations where youth programs and youth voice is centered. We have had a longstanding 5-year relationship with Thomas Dunn Learning Center since our start back in 2019, we are very proud of all of our long-standing community partnerships.

Did you know that only 2.5% of all STEM bachelor's degrees are awarded to Black Women? We are working to support girls as they explore their STEM interests. We know that STEM careers need more diversity and we are working to ensure that all participants are confident!

She's also excited about math and science and will be enrolled in an accelerated 8th-grade program that includes advanced math and science classes. I don't think she would have been as confident and passionate about the accelerated program if she hadn't been in the BGDSTEM.

Experiential Learning Field Trips provide girls an opportunity to see and learn in a real-world STEM environment. Through hands-on experiences on-site with professionals in the field, they report learning more about the day-to-day work within that career field.
