Yesterday morning crews from @BCCRS A741B & RS741 went to @LandonSchool Summer Day Camp for Preschoolers and gave a talk about fire & injury prevention and the role of first responders. Kids asked LOTS of questions and the adults learned A LOT!

BCCRS Firefighter/ Paramedic Daniel Edwards recently completed a 2 week American Alpine Institute Comprehensive Technical Rope Rescue course in Bellingham, WA. Instruction and practical scenarios covering low and high angle rope rescue in rural and alpine environments.

Lazarus Leadership Fellows Program, a volunteer and community service initiative at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School develops citizen leadership skills. Chief Sherburne, and Sunday Night Crew, were proud to talk to Fellows how volunteering is "the experience of a lifetime."

On Thursday, May 8th RS741 and MCFRS units from the 2nd and 3rd battalion were dispatched to the 9200 block of Rosehill Drive for a house fire. RS741 split crews to handle searches and utilities. The squad remained on scene for over 2 hours before being released. #bccrs #mcfrs

BCCRS had so much fun hosting Guiding Eyes for the Blind Montgomery Puppy Raising Region at the Rescue Squad, helping to socialize guide dogs and puppies in training, and helping them get familar with the sights, sounds and smells of emergency response.

Today, BCCRS celebrated the retirement (at least from active call running) of Life Member Ed Levien. During his ~ 12 years as an active EMT: 3,327 calls; 13,130 standby hours; 175 internal meetings; and 750 hours of formal training. #experienceofalifetime #volunteer #EMT

On April 30, 2025, at approximately 8:30 pm, RS741 responded to an auto accident with a report of a person trapped inside their vehicle. After stabilizing the car via a "tie back," the Squad crew cut out the windshield and assisted the patient out of the vehicle.
