Barkerville is a national/provincial treasure. Almost losing the site to wildfire last year - highlighted the significance this site holds to our shared history as well as the importance to our regional tourism sector and economic diversification. #bcpoli @DestinationBC @HelloBC

Have you heard of the elasmosaur? In 1988, Mike Trask and his daughter Heather found the first elasmosaur fossil west of the Canadian Rockies along near Courtenay on Vancouver Island. In 2023 the elasmosaur became BC's official fossil: https://t.co/BNjpry1oNT

Happy #NationalFossilDay! This day encourages people to discover the ancient history preserved in fossils, appreciate the work of palaeontologists and learn about Earth's prehistoric past. I am celebrating by sharing the new Provincial Fossil Emblem designed by @andyeverson

I love the new provincial fossil emblem! Artist @andyeverson has created an exquisite emblem for the provincial fossil in the style of the K’ómoks First Nation where the #elasmosaur fossil was discovered.

This final image is of one of the milk jugs used to store records before being buried in the ghetto. I have worked with UNESCO records @BCArchives and found the public exhibit of this collection moving and inspiring. Great way to make info accessible to non-researchers (4/4)

Incredible first day at the @HeritageBCanada conference. The tour of the Brilliant Dam & surrounding area seamlessly wove together Sinixt, Doukhobor, & industrial history, illustrating overlaps & shared history. Learning from Audrey Repin, Shelley Boyd & JJ Verigin was an honour.
