6. BASI would welcome rapid action by the U.K. government not only to retain this piece of EU legislation and confirm ongoing recognition of qualifications but also to deliver a pragmatic solution to the post-Brexit working rights challenge faced by thousands of seasonal workers.

5. The Delegated Act gives top cert snowsport instructors the legal right to work in the EU. By revoking this piece of legislation, that legal protection will be lost. Contrary to the assertions made by BEIS, it is hard to see how there will be no impact.

4. The potential impact of BEIS revoking the UK’s retention of the EU Delegated Act has not been discussed with or communicated to BASI at any time.

3. More specifically, BASI met with both BEIS & DCMS on 04/03/2020 to present the importance and significance of the Delegated Act and MRPQ to U.K. nationals, then again with the DCMS on 16/04/2020 to reiterate the importance of MRPQ and post-Brexit working rights.
