Rodney Taylor’s life is in danger — he needs our help. After 40+ years in the U.S., Rodney — a double amputee, Atlanta barber, and community volunteer — has been detained by ICE at Stewart, despite a pending green card.
Rodney has lived in the U.S. for over 40 years. He came here as a child for life-saving medical care and built a life in Atlanta as a barber and community volunteer.

It’s time to center humanity, not algorithms. AI must be decolonized and rooted in uBuntu — the belief in our shared personhood and collective humanity. ✊🏾 In partnership with @AmplifyAfrica_

➡️ AI tools like facial recognition and predictive models amplify racial bias. ➡️ Black migrants are disproportionately targeted and criminalized. ➡️ DHS continues to rely on biased data, deepening systemic discrimination.

AI + Border Enforcement (Part 5): The Human Cost of Automated Control More governments worldwide are using AI to enforce borders, often at the expense of migrants’ safety and dignity. These systems surveil, profile, and decide who gets detained, deported, or granted relief.

This isn’t border security— it's a human rights crisis. #ProtectBlackMigrants #WeGotUs #endexternalization

Black migrants face violence, extortion, and exclusion from these U.S backed systems. Surveillance tools like drones, AI, and facial recognition often misidentify and criminalize them.

These injustices are compounded for Black LGBTQIA+ migrants, who are already traumatized, have a lack of language access and community support, and whose applications are often deemed as less credible or have to represent themselves with no right to a lawyer.

The U.S. asylum system was designed to exclude, not protect, migrants. Black migrants already face significant barriers to community support, language access, and legal aid.
