We're 260+ chapter into MHA. Deku have fought arguably 5 non credited/rewarded fight and there are still ppl that says he's in it for fame and materialistic goals. Just- NO. He didn't seek for any of these things after the deed is done either, he's in it for others, EVERY time.

Love how Hori doesn’t shy away from framing his characters decisions as naive despite how noble it may be. In fact the continuous use of the return-to-child imagery in this final act is also a part of portraying that naivety. Especially for characters like Ochaco and Deku.

Tbf tho, there’s not a lot of fight with characters like Deku in MHA. The only other standout is Mirko vs High End.

My main problem with ppl singling out Bakugo as a reason for him to leap in here is that future Deku said in that same chapter why he did.
"There were any number of reasons"
It being Bakugo is just one factor amongst many, the real reason he was there was THE iconic line.
Okay so genuine question. Do you think Deku would save a random person from the sludge villain the way he rushed to save Bakugo? Because I don't think that would be the case for multiple reasons
