I have always hated that “cultural appropriation” campaign. It never made sense to me especially when copying from others has always been the human default for years.

Also, there is no pure culture. Whatever you have today as your culture bears significant influences and borrowings from other cultures and dynamics it has interacted with. Get a grip.

The sadder and more tragic issue here is that this number is definitely incorrect. The real figure will be definitely higher. A lot of cases go unreported.
Deborah Moses is the 140th Reported Victim of #FemicideInNigeria in 2025!.She was murdered by her ex boyfriend, Lintex Ogale in Lagos. She had done everything to stay alive (deserted the relationship and moved) yet he took it; scaled into her home and Stabbed her to death! 💔🧵

Only weak and “inferior” people complain of cultural appropriation when others share, use or “remix” their culture. All of us have been “appropriating” American culture for years on end without them “crying” about it. You people should get a grip.

This is a good example of the significance of consequences in any society. Water takes the shape of its container.

Simply because the “quacks” promise miracles.
Nigerians are an interesting bunch. They'll explain how they can't take medication that has gone through rigorous testing b/c of a conspriacy they heard on TikTok,but they'll still go to a spa & have a clerk with an SSCE give them a concoction drip as "rejuvenation" therapy.

I feel sorry for that lady and her family. The authorities let her down. That guy had been arrested and released more than 8 times. That kind of person shouldn’t be roaming the streets freely. The liberal ideal behind such is causing more harm.

Like Prof. Odesanmi like to say.“Women are jealous, but men are morbidly jealous”.
Apparently he broke up with Debbie two years ago but he couldn’t take the breakup. Called her and said “No one will have you if I can’t “ , .“blood will flow if we don’t get married”. He eventually got to her and killed her. He has killed Debbie 💔😔.

A Nigerian (African) leader would have this same experience and only think of how to ensure their family has secured and unlimited access to the place they had that experience.
In 1978, Deng Xiaoping rode a Japanese bullet train for the first time. 3 decades earlier, Japan was China’s greatest enemy. In the 1970s, China began to open up & learn from others, incl. Japan. 3 decades later, China began to build the world’s largest high-speed rail network.

Its also part of the Twitter-NG malady. I remember when people were arguing that someone earning 150k over three day isnt a lot of money. People on Twitter are claiming a lifestyle and level so they can look cool and “feel among”.
Lagosians always engage economic conversations from the perspective of their aspirational status, not their current one. 2.7m a month apartment is cheap, but he never chop this night.
