Schools should be fostering growth and the exchange of ideas — not preventing students from learning and understanding different perspectives. These unnecessary book bans join a host of other attempts to silence us. We must fight back.

This is why I go hard for the students I serve! I taught this poem in my classroom and it’s power showed just that in the students takeaways. What is America doing? Why? Just Why?
