By the end of 2023, idol will make its talent contract transparent. Tomorrow, we will reveal the percentage cut for our VTuber talents.
I believe it's time for these well-guarded secrets to end, making it easier for VTubers to make informed decisions.
I've seen in the replies to our announcement regarding the idol revenue split there is a bit of confusion about the 15% of extra value gained from reinvestment. I'd like to offer some more information on our expense coverage to try to clear that up!
idol's revenue split is 60%…

The last line is important. idol has been able to sustain itself and continue to grow, while still reinvesting in talents and providing a fair share that allows our talents to pursue content creation full time.
By the end of 2023, idol is committed to making its talent contract transparent. Today, however, we have decided to reveal one of the biggest secrets of VTuber agencies – the percentage cut for our VTuber talents, so that other aspiring VTubers can make informed decisions.
Our
idol exclusively features female VTuber characters and we do not plan to introduce male characters. While we understand this may be disappointing, there are many other agencies offering opportunities and auditions for male VTuber characters.
We've made that clear a couple of…

@idol_corp
to help rewrite the talent contracts to improve them and benefit the entire vtuber industry, hoping it will act as a model for the future.
We don't. Offering performance bonuses based on milestones can cause content creators to overly focus on metrics, which may not always be within their control. This can lead to burnout and stress.
We don't take a cut from charity streams.
@AvielBasin
You fucked up by adding numbers to text. Next time just add big circles divided by bright primary colors and people would understand better.
All jokes aside are there performance bonuses or maybe milestones included? If charity streams are considered, will the % for that…
idolEN 2nd Gen lineup been finalized after an intense audition process.
We faced tough choices, but curated a lineup that promises a spectacular showcase of talent.
Thank you to all who auditioned - we appreciate your time and effort. Rejection emails were sent yesterday.

Almost there! Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we will need to delay for about 12 more hours. I understand that the wait might feel endless… but I assure you we're getting close.
I would like to clarify that these delays did not affect the debut date…
Just like water, we are transparent!
To that goal, we wanted to put more info out there about our contract and encourage others to do the same!
We plan to share even more details with you all soon! Keep being awesome 🌊
Excited for this! This is something we've been working on to help existing talents create more exciting content. It will open up possibilities that are currently limited by Live2D, as we work towards developing full 3D models in the future!
We are deeply honored and grateful for the nomination at the VTuber Award Show as the Best VTuber Organization.
We're immensely proud of our incredible talents who have come a long way. While our journey hasn't been without its challenges, we're dedicated to improving and…

We concluded the event by helping raise $4,160 for St. Jude Children's Hospital, which was a remarkable finale. We can't
Managing a shop generally requires significantly more resources and active involvement from the company. This ranges from customer support to dedicated store financial management, as well as the everyday tasks associated with maintaining and operating online stores.
On the other…
@idol_corp
Fascinating.
Since we are talking about the vtuber industry in general, why is the physical goods generally speaking a lower percentage? Is it intentional design or is it different breakdown since those have a higher cost on the company?
Happy New Year, everyone! This year has been a rollercoaster, and I am extremely excited about 2024.
Let's continue to grow together! 🥂
P.S
The contract reveal is around the corner, look forward to it.

@idol_corp
The 15% represents our average coverage for talent expenses. In most agencies, expenses for video games, cover songs, video editing, personal projects, and so forth are paid by the talent.
At idol, we fully cover these expenses. On average, more than 15% is returned to our…

Idol has become a rising name in the agency VTuber scene, with its scalability being evident from the debut of its Origins unit to the two generations of its English generation.
More recently, the agency came into the spotlight after it laid out its agency-talent revenue share.
During Donothons of talents, idol will cover 100% of the expenses of the unlocked goals.
In other words, that the money earned during the Donothon will go directly to support the talents!
I'd like to make it clear that we have long term plans and goals for idolHE, including rebranding and redebuting our existing idolHE talents.
We are committed to the success of all of our talents, please look forward to upcoming announcements.
We now cover video editors in our expense coverage for VTuber talents and have hired over 10 skilled editors.
This adds to our list of in-house artists and music mixers, whom we have recently recruited for our talents so they can focus on what they do best - content creation.
We've achieved remarkable Q1 results, exceeding our initial forecasts! A big thank you to our amazing fans – Your passion fuels our drive for excellence.
Stay tuned for some game-changing announcements in Q2!
Yes, we are getting in touch with applicants during the audition process, and in some cases, if we think the applicant is what we are looking for, we might sign them with the agency.
In other words, applying earlier is usually better than applying later.
I'll be more active on /r/Idol to answer questions and gather feedback.
I've been searching for a solution to obtain feedback and suggestions from the community, and I think this is a good place to start.
This week, we're busy working on some exciting announcements, so I won't be publishing a weekly article.
Please look forward to the upcoming news this month! Stay tuned, and thanks for your support.
One of our goals for 2023 is to be more open with the community. I really think we can benefit from your feedback and ideas, so I've decided to start a little blog to keep you in the loop.
Read:
at idol, scouting talents is an ongoing team effort. We aim to uncover individuals in the community with exceptional potential and invite them to audition. Typically, for every five talents we scout, one successfully passes the auditions.
Thank you! Approximately 30% of all idol monthly profits are directly reinvested in purchasing products for talents, ranging from equipment, project coverage, software licenses and paid services.
@AvielBasin
That's actually quite generous. Some of that equipment could be pretty expensive, right? It's cool to see the dedication to getting talents up and running like that.
We haven't made major changes to our content restrictions. We fully support our talents' freedom of expression and creativity, provided the content isn't offensive and it follows the platform's terms of service.
We are the first VTuber agency to publicly commit to cover all streaming expenses for talents, so they can truly be their best creative self on stream without being limited by money.
This is how we view creative freedom, and we're committed to help our talents with that.
My previous weekly post was poorly worded, I want to emphasize that we will never encourage talents to break their contracts. I merely discussed a future goal for who may wish to transfer to idol after their contracts expire, and its NOT something that we have begun working on.
