the funniest thing about the bunt is that it was a great bunt the decision was just so stupid that even when executed perfectly it resulted in the worst possible outcome.

On this day in 1972, the Philadelphia Daily News asked people on the street which day of the week they liked best. Most people said Friday or Saturday. And then there was hospital worker Peter Vimmerstedt...

This profile of Embiid is a triumph. He's my favorite Sixer ever -- and maybe my favorite athlete. This piece shows why. Athletes like to pretend they're superhuman. Embiid's the opposite. He's achingly human -- a mix of self-doubt, introspection, and defiance.

Of course I support OKC doing what they do. It's on the NBA to change the incentive structure. But what OKC did is much worse as precedent if you want teams to compete and stars to play. Anyway...Go Thunder.

The Thunder were a very good, Western Conference playoff team that decided to self-detonate for two years. They also had their best player -- an emerging MVP candidate -- get "injured" in consecutive seasons. If more teams do that...it would actually be problematic.

To recap...the Sixers were an already bad team that got worse for three years to accumulate draft picks. Teams did similar things before and since.

The NBA was so scared of everyone copying the Sixers...but what they should actually fear is everyone copying the Thunder. That's where this could actually get messy.

Shout out @GenthHarry at my alma mater @HCFords_BSB. He's leading D3 in homers, RBI, and slugging %....and is, for my money, the best D3 player in America. I was an atrocious D3 baseball player. He is the opposite of that. Hat's off!
