”I'm not too shabby without the bow and arrows, either, ya know...” (MDNI / 21+ RP)

"Well, I finally have some time to take a look at your webbing" That suspicious gaze was replaced by a more eager one with his hands moving gently onto her arms. "Got some arrows that could use a silk touch up"
"Not busy." She stopped in front of him, familiar icy hues looking up at him, though there was a lack of that tenderness he'd usually see. "Why?"

"Yea- can only imagine what you spider-folk go through..." He'd trail off, a suspicious expression still painted over his face, but his shoulders relaxed slightly. "Say, you busy right now?"
"No, I'm perfectly fine." She couldn't say the same for the variant that he knew, there was no way she'd be giving her current situation. But that remained unsaid. "Multiverse work is always dangerous."

"Sure, but is there a reason why you wouldn't be alright?" That next question came out like a plea, seeing the signs and believing there was more to this. "I don't know your boss, but I'm pretty sure the only reason he'd give you that is if something has happened"
"Maybe he just likes me and wants to make sure I'm alright." She said with a shrug, clearly not meaning a word of it. She couldn't tell him the real reason.

"Seems a bit... much, don't you think? I mean, why does he even need to track you?" He didn't mean to start piling on the questions, but he couldn't help it, having to bite his cheek from asking too much at once.
"That would be for the best." Her eyes flickered to the device that was keeping her from glitching while there. Of course he'd notice it. "It's a work thing. Been asked to wear it since the boss wants to track me . . . Us. The members."

"...well, I guess we should wait for a nicer day" The coy act continued until he decided to finally push for some information, arms coming up across his chest and his expression becoming stern. "So, what's the deal with that gizmo on your wrist?"
Another shift in her expression, her eyes narrowing for a moment. He was really trying to get her to spend time with two of those creatures now. "Maybe we should save that for another time."

"You don't sound too certain..." He paused, tempted to call her out on the slight shifts and unfulfilling answer, but he was fine with playing the long game, at least for now. "...how about I bring Lucky over? We could head out on a nice, long dog walk"
Something awfully close to disgust flashed in her eyes before she managed to school her expression. "Oh, he's . . . Great." She forced a smile. That dog was the worst part of her new role.

"Come on- we're not that bad... right?" It was a rhetorical question, one asked with a smirk as he relaxed further against the couch.
she would chuckle, dryly. now that was definitely a concept she’d love to see. “having two hawkeyes at her party is going to piss her off, how could i ever say no?”

His hands remain still at his sides, not even twitching as his eyes followed her strut. "Good to hear... Cerberus doing alright?" The question was both a stall and genuine wonder- he knew how much Persephone loves her pooch after all.
She began slowly circling around him, letting out a small hum. She was as graceful as ever, just more feline like. "The same as usual." Icy hues were fixed on his form, studying him for any sign of tension or aggression.

"I could tag along- be loud, keep everyone's attention off you?" The offer was completely genuine, being ready to help her out and maybe nab some fancy gala alcohol too.
she wouldn’t even hesitate to take a tylenol, followed by a sip of water. “you know i still have a gala tomorrow,” kate revealed. “my sister’s going to murder me.”

"Not blackmail... pepperoni" He couldn't hide the chuckle, making himself laugh as his hand indicates to the Tylenol in the first aid bag in case she needs some.
her head laid back on the couch, the bandages definitely helped but she could still feel the ache. “blackmail?” her voice was faint. “really?”

That response did nothing to ease his thoughts, instead just giving his gaze an excuse to turn more skeptical. "So... how's things?" His eventually reply was almost tense. But to him, in order to fish for information, the smartest thing to do was playing dumb.
Her tongue slowly traced the shape of her own fang, trying to fight back her smile from getting wider. "I guess I do." She hummed, studying him. Seems this one was smarter than most.

"That doesn't mean I'm letting you be alone" There was a noticeable firmness in his voice, his stubbornness on full as his eyes return to checking her over for any other injuries, clearly set on staying.
she could sense his indecision. well, mostly because if the roles were reversed she would have wanted to do the same thing he wants to. “you can go if you want to.” kate remarked. “i'm sure i won't bleed out now.”

It was a struggle keeping his face neutral, even more so to not grab his bow and follow the trail back to whoever did this... But he had to stay by her side, to make sure she would be okay. "Alright- forget about them the now. We'll get 'em once you're better... I swear"
she would grateful accept to bottle, immediately taking a slug out of it. “i wish that were the case,” she'd reply. “it was almost an ambush.”

Once the bandage had been wrapped, he stood back up, leaving for a moment to fetch a cold bottle of water, offering it with a head tilt. "Tell me whoever did this got off a lot worse than you did"
a sigh leaves her lips, though it sounds more like she was struggling to breathe. “yeah, well i'm not in the hospital yet so. . .”

"You've had worse" It wasn't much, but it was all he could think of saying to make sure the atmosphere didn't become too tense as the bandage carefully begun wrapping around her arm.
on a normal day she would teased him but her entire body was in too much for anything really. either way she'd hold her arm up for him to treat. "it's pretty bad, isn't it?"

There was a nod of understanding, their usual banter could wait until he was sure she wasn't falling apart. "Arm up" He instructed softly, nodding to her right arm as he got some bandages ready, just in case it needed any.
of course, he’s already steps ahead. well, mostly considering that clint did already know the feeling of all this. “yes, actually.”
