In terms of gameplay, I hate the idea of just translating those games to fit modern AAA conventions with a modern camera and all that. Frankly, I’d want it to be more like MGS2 since it’s gameplay was a more refined MGS1, whose gameplay was set to be a more refined MG 1+2

First: they need to be separate experiences. Saying it should be a single game would be like remaking A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back and making them a single movie. It just wouldn’t work story wise.

I love the idea of remaking MG 1+2. That is something that desperately needs to happen as the story of those 2 games are vital to understanding MGS lore as a whole. That said, I vehemently oppose everything that is proposed here.
Remake Metal Gear 1+2 (Not Solid series) into a single AAA reimagining tht incorporates the gameplay of later MGS games and gets the important plot beats retold through a modern lense MG 1+2 is integral to MGS. We should have a more timeless way to experience tht story @Konami

I hope it’s like the Gran Turismo movie where instead of it being based on the game it’s based on some poor kid that got tricked into joining the military after playing too much Black Ops 2. The film’s climax is him bombing a house full of civilians.
