To me, the whole situation around Mouthwashing doesn't feel like a moral failing on the developers' parts. That's ridiculous. To me, it simply creates a tonal whiplash between their work and its marketing. It's like their entire marketing gimmick was The Laura Palmer Funko Pop.

I'm conflicted on this because I do, intellectually, agree with the stance of allowing creators the freedom of engaging with their own art in whatever way they seem fit. But i won't lie and pretend that being very cringe on social media isn't going to affect how i see your work.

You can tell when my mental health is declining because i start compulsively downloading Vriska art on my phone.
