The Alliance Children's Garden at Butler Park, 1000 Barton Springs Rd., will have landscape staff working in the garden on 8/18/25-8/19/25. The Garden will stay open. Visitors are asked to stay clear of the areas where staff is working. More information:

The George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center’s Back to School Bash was a huge success! Over 5,000 backpacks were stuffed with supplies, & 4,250 were given out to local families — plus 1,000+ lunches served. Huge thanks to our volunteers, Constables (Pct. 4) & community!

900+ community members joined Virginia L. Brown Recreation Center for our Back to School Bash! Thanks to our partners, we gave away 500+ backpacks, 55 bikes, clothing. Families enjoyed health screenings, crafts & haircuts—sending students into the school year ready & supported!

The parking lot underneath the I-35 bridges next to the Butler Hike and Bike Trail will close on Sun., 8/10/25, due to work on TxDOT's I-35 Capital Express Central project. The project, led & managed by TxDOT, is slated to be completed in 2033. More info:
