As the @UN marks 80 years, we celebrate its achievements. Australia stands for peace, stability, and prosperity – at home, in our region, and globally. We remain committed to building a better future for all through the UN.

Today our thoughts are with Jewish people in Israel, Australia and around the world as we mark two years since the horror of Hamas' October 7 attacks. We unequivocally condemn the terror perpetrated by Hamas and repeat our call for the immediate release of hostages.

One year since taking action against Afghanistan for violations of CEDAW, Australia, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands condemn the Taliban's ongoing efforts to silence Afghan women and girls. We continue to pursue negotiations with Afghanistan under Article 29 of CEDAW.
