Just 56 people signed the Declaration of Independence. Never forget—throughout American history, it’s always been a few bold souls who’ve had the courage to change everything.

During the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, most folks didn’t think, “I’m part of history.” They just knew injustice was staring them in the face—and they had to act. Movements don’t always feel like moments until you look back.

Today we celebrate freedom — but let’s be real: freedom ain’t free, and it damn sure ain’t finished. While fireworks light up the sky, some folks are busy trying to dim our rights, suppress our votes, and silence our voices. But we don’t back down. We were built to fight for.

The “Big Beautiful Bill” is a disaster — total mess. Billions in cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and working families. It’s not beautiful, it’s brutal. Georgia gets hit hard. People lose healthcare, food, dignity. #gapol.

The “Big, Beautiful Bill” would lead to significant reductions in healthcare access via stricter work/documentation rules, cuts in provider funding, and loss of federal match dollars. Expect more paperwork, greater risk of losing coverage, and financial pressure on opiate.

Georgia would face approximately $7–10 billion less funding over ten years, straining provider reimbursements .

The federal bill mandates that most able-bodied adults 19–64 work 80 hrs/month, extending beyond current Georgia requirements. Georgia’s own Pathways to Coverage work‑requirement pilot has seen extremely low enrollment (just ~4,200 of 240,000 eligible).

it's estimated that around 750,000 Georgians could lose health coverage by 2035 due to the combined #Medicaid and ACA subsidy reductions .#gapol.

FYI #Georgia - Medicaid is a medical assistance program that helps many people who cannot afford medical care pay for some or all of their medical bills. Here is how it works in Georgia

On This Date: July 2, 1964. President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law—one of the most significant legislative victories in the fight for racial justice. It outlawed segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination on the basis of race,.
