Those who attack the Gadsden flag attack the idea of defensive liberty itself. They want you passive. They want you to forget that America was born from principled resistance. The rattlesnake warned tyrants then. It warns them now.

Christopher Gadsden presented his yellow flag to the South Carolina Congress. "An elegant standard" for the Continental Navy with a coiled rattlesnake. "Don't Tread on Me" meant leave us in peace and we will leave you in peace. The opposite of aggression or hatred.
