The direction this app is taking, the fact people I respect are leaving, and a painful exchange with terfs resurfacing mean I'll be moving to Threads and Instagram over the coming weeks. I value my Autistic, queer, blind, and creative connections here - go well and stay in touch.

Eryth is good for short. This name encompasses many parts of my identity, passions, and aspirations. The transition is exciting and a little scary - thanks so much in advance for coming with me. 2/2.

Hi everyone, I'm briefly re-entering Twitter to share that for many reasons, I've decided to change my name again: Asteryth comes from Greek Aster (star) + Eryth (red). Ryth or Rith is from Anglo-Saxon for either a small stream or a ford, depending on which source you read). 1/2.

Looking for a UK-based disabled artist who works in electronic music/audio manipulation. Concocting something with a poet/playwright collaborator and looking for someone to join the team. Drop me a DM if you're interested 🎢✍🏻.

It is *so hard* to be openly trans right now. So much concentrated hate directed at such a small, vulnerable community. Just let us live our lives. Focus that energy on say, the climate crisis or the plight of desperate refugees, if you genuinely care about children being harmed.

I installed the update to this app today and the whole X thing is just so grim. Who's thinking of going somewhere else? This is currently my only social media platform, but looking to explore alternatives. Instagram's visual though, and sounds like Threads is still a bit sketchy?.

Deleted an earlier QT due to my horrifically unclear wording. Yes, non-binary people are non-binary, and anyone who thinks it's a fad has no idea how hard it can be to be openly trans right now. I so wish the world would just let us live our lives in peace. Solidarity 🌈⚧️.

Non binary people ARE non binary. They do NOT have to fit into any tick box you try to force them in. No debate!.

Composers, how do you write rhythm? 100% the hardest parameter for me. Practically jumped up & down after notating one of my vocal stims, & my sister was like, Didn't you go to like, composing school? Did they not teach you that stuff? & I was like, Kinda but I still can't do it.

The notion that there is one way of being that defines 'real men' is precisely the issue that needs to be addressed. There are SO MANY REASONS why someone may not talk about their feelings. To see a mental health charity shutting down challenges to such views is deeply worrying.

Real men struggle. Real men talk about their feelings. Real men ask for help.

I hope we can all as a soicety reflect with honesty and sensitivity on what has happened, and respecting the privacy and recovery of those involved. And I hope The Sun faces the consequences it deserves. End.

I hate this - the vitriole that was burning through Twitter in the past few days, the glee from people playing 'Guess the Presenter!' when Huw Edwards didn't present the news, the horrific and untrue allegations of illegality that were somehow allowed to snowball out of control.

The way The Sun has acted reeks of wanting to crush the BBC and move people towards much more extreme and harmful media, and that is so dangerous.

It matters because the way this has been presented, particularly in the tabloid press, will shake the public's trust in the BBC. Sure, it's not a perfect media outlet. But it holds a lot of power in shaping millions of people's awareness of what's happening in the world.

It matters because a person who has used his platform to share bravely about mental health has been driven into crisis because he has a complex private life. Guess what? So do many of us, in all kinds of ways and for all kinds of reasons.

I don't have anything very insightful or articulate or new to add to the discussions about The Sun, the BBC, and one of our most valued public figures. But it fills me with such deep sadness and rage that this has been allowed to happen. 🧡.
