87% of survey respondents say it is important to receive support from someone with a similar background.

Racial stereotypes such as the model minority myth, the perception of APIs as perpetual foreigners, and the stereotype of Asians as robots or machines, prevent people from seeing APIs as human which can compound mental health challenges APIs may be facing.

More workplaces are providing mental health resources (78% say their companies offer mental health resources). At companies that offer these resources, APIs reported better mental health but only 15% of respondents believe their company leadership prioritized mental health.
