Most Fante towns feature one of these unique processional banners, which narrate the stories of key events in the community & were crafted for major traditional celebrations that serve as a public emblem of prosperity & wealth for the Asafo company, chiefs, and queen mothers. 🇬🇭.

The No. 6 Kyirem Asafo "nsusuansu" long banner from Anomabo was handmade in 1970 by sculptor and master flagmaker Kwamina Amoaku (1895 - 1985) measuring around 300ft.

Nsusuansu Asafo flag display by the lagoon at the Ekumfi Narkwa Ayerye festival. The term nsusuansu translates to "a towns water supply.". As many Fante towns associated with Asafo groups are located by the coast, the community honours the sea Gods during the festival season 🇬🇭
