I don't let people kiss my hand due to the semantics. And neither should they. Unless its mutually agreed upon, and the act is reciprocal - or maybe I'm just the hugging type? Or the kiss-you-elsewhere type? In any case, if its not a 2-way street, then it's not for me.

But today, I saw something different. Its not that I haven't heard about it, but seeing it in front of your eyes made me chuckle. The female kisses the hand of the male, then the male returns the kiss to her hand, and they hugged, kisses on each others cheeks.

Airports, bus/train stations, these are places of 'howdy' and 'see ya later'. Within my observation bubble, the scene is fairly scripted: the female kisses the hand of the male, the young kisses the hand of the elder. Perhaps it's a carry-over from olden times.

Both actors worked seamlessly in the scene; and the crew did a perfect job of capturing the raw emotions, which brought it to life. Needless to say, domestic abuse is a crime which noone should emulate, but of you ever doubt the sheer energy in the scene, watch the couch.

This scene is so masterfully done, the screenplay looks like it took a page out of the Italian Opera textbook. The buildup of tension in the exchange, the close-up shots and the final slap - it felt like witnessing the discharge of a firearm.
