A big thank you to our Creative Connections cohort of 2023-24! Across the last year this group of emerging makers, and the dedicated Guild members who make up the steering group, have built a wonderful support network and made the first year of this initiative a big success!

We were lucky enough to have Jazmine Miles-Long talk at the Guild recently! Through revealing the skilled processes involved in creating taxidermy, Jazmine showed how this misunderstood craft is not only useful for science, but that it can show the beauty of living things.

Last week, Jiro Osuga visited the Guild to give a talk to our members. Jiro paints anything that he experiences, from airport terminals to snails. He is often the protagonist in his own work, acting out with gentle self-deprecation the tragicomedy of an artist’s life.

We very much enjoyed having @anncarringtonart at the Guild for our first talk after the summer break! Ann sculpts fantastical metal sculptures from found and discarded objects. Her pieces often take the form of bouquets, vases, and oversized busts.
