🌞Art on Parade has gone on summer break, apart from our fun Art Days from 14th July. 🪴Here is the end of term piece of some beautiful wooden plant pots that the children made and painted. These will adorn colourful summer plants in their homes. Happy summer everyone 😎

Today’s lesson concentrated on improving our young artists with their drawing techniques. We took tigers and leopards as inspiration, responding to the piercing glance of a leopard or nurturing expressions of a mother tiger with her cub. 🐯

Today’s lessons involved our children outdoors in the grande Ripley Arts Centre gardens. 🦋🐝🌳 The lesson was themed around responding to our sense of hearing. Relying solely on hearing what natural sounds they could hear in the gardens and sketching to them. 🪴🐿️

The Lord of the flies! 🪰 Our sessions yesterday explored the beauty in some of natures not so captivating creatures. Although they might be annoying to shoo out from the living room windows, under a microscope flies have an iridescent appearance that captivated our children 🌈

We had a fantastic turnout at the botany Clay days this May half term! Led by our ceramic artist, our young people used terracotta clay to hand build a large vase, decorated them with polymer clay and hand sculpted flowers of all kind, all beautifully sculpted by the children.

Yesterday the children a day to doodle creating their own wallpaper designs! ✍️ The best thing about doodling is that there is no right or wrong way to do it - the freedom to let intuition guide you helps our young artists to explore new ideas!

Yesterday the children explored the beautiful gardens at the Ripley. They took some foliage and flowers of their choice back into the art studio & sketched them using oil pastels to colour, them if they so wished. We hope you like their efforts. #chislehurstkids #bromleykids

5,6,7,8! 🩰 Our seniors explored figure drawing through the graceful and elegant movements of ballet dancers. Using a mix of watercolour, black ink and pencil they studied form, posture and proportion reflecting the technical skill of dance 🩰
