Fatalities caused by speeding vehicles can have long lasting effects on communities. Our community speed watch volunteers in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent are all part of a positive community working to make our roads safer.

Yesterday was an amazing day with @StaffsCSW and @StaffsRoadHarm who paid us a visit whilst we were out. A car, motorbike and a HGV which wasn’t supposed to be in the village were stopped Our local PCSO Lisa was also with us for support too on a very hot day. Below is our results

Tuesday results Spode Cottage, Rugeley Rd 16:30hrs-17:30hrs 1125 vehicles 🚗 51 reported for speed ✍️ 2 reported for 📱 (1 of which was speeding too)‼️‼️ 55 mph highest speed ‼️‼️ Yes that is right 55 in a 30 shocking If caught by @StaffsRoadHarm you will be prosecuted.

Our team carried out sessions on Monday and today on Monday saw our PCSO join and assist thank you for the support @LichfieldPolice Monday results from The Green 16:00hrs to hrs17:00 540 vehicles 🚗 13 reported for speed ✍️ 39 mph highest speed !!!!

Our latest results from Lichfield Road 🚗443 vehicles in 1-hour ✍️16 reportable for speed ‼️ 44mph high speed Lastly, we are getting reports that the SID on New Road is not working again. Remember, the SIDs are the responsibility of the Parish council not us. #noneedtospeed

We have carried out enforcement around the County this week in support of @StaffsCSW. The locations we attend are highlighted by local residents. Their Communuty speedwatch figures show areas that need further support. Police enforcement helps to spread the word to slow down

Just thought we’d give you some stats from Jan-Oct! Nearly 30k vehicles passed our team in the villages of #armitage over 46 sessions. It’s working though as not many 3rd letters go out to offenders. Highest speed though 59mph when we are visible is shocking. #noneedtospeed

Far too many tractors and tall trailers full of earth moving through the village at speed the last 2 days @RoadPolicing possibly coming from works behind @AquaDirectLtd needs to stop before there's an incident.

Three recent CSW sessions carried out and unbelievable that one motorbike has been recorded in all 3 sessions! Their speeds were 58mph, 49mph and 44mph two of these occurred whilst they were overtaking!! Is this something that @StaffsSpecials would look into? #noneedtospeed

We were joined this morning on Lichfield Road by @RoadPolicing It's always great to get extra support as we continue to remind drivers of the 30mph speed limit throughout the village

A warm Saturday morning session saw us monitor. 821 🚗 vehicles 49 📝 reported 1 📱 mobile phone use (FaceTiming) ‼️46 mph highest speed Lots of support for the volunteers this morning thank you. We think the rushing around was drivers getting ready for a Eurovision party.
