Just walking away will probably hurt our chances of getting another house, but so does filing for bankruptcy. I just want to have a home.

I wonder which is worse in the long run:.Just abandoning our mortgage and not paying anymore. Or.Filling for bankruptcy?. We are still homeless. We want to buy a different house, but we cant do anything until the mortgage talks to us.

City denied our claim. Said they weren’t legally liable to pay us anything.

We finally have a consultation with a lawyer about sueing the city! Next Wednesday!.

Red Cross closed out our case a few days ago and then had the balls to text me asking how well they did.

We got 660 dollars from the red cross. Maybe we will get more help, maybe not. *Sigh*.

I fucking rolled a 19 today, why did it suck so much?.

We also just got a phone call from our city council representative and he said we no longer have to worry about the deadline they put on our house! I’m so relieved! It was going to cost us 500 dollars a day after our deadline if we didn’t have the house fixed or destroyed.

Heard back from city council again. Our claim will be addressed by at least 8/5. What that means, I don't know. But fingers crossed!.

I got a donation through Venmo the other day from a lovely follower and they were afraid it wasnt enough. But honestly, if I got 5 bucks from every single person on here it would add up to over 18k and that's nothing to sneeze at. Haha.

They’re going to start charging us 500 dollars a day. It took almost two weeks alone to hear back from insurance. And now we cant get a hold of the mortgage to see if we can or can’t demo the whole thing. And we STILL cant find a god damn lawyer to even help us!.

We submitted our claim against the city today. Hopefully it wont take too long to hear back. We only have a 30 day window to get anything done with our house and everyone is taking their sweet time getting back to us about things. Every day after the 30 day deadline.
