Historically, surgical MAZE procedures were thought be more definitive in creating transmural lines of block. Not a consistent finding! refractory atypical AFL ablation 2 months post MAZE/LAA clip/MVR supports sparse endocardial scar. #AblateAF @vswarup1 @pseudorone @bbkaffeine

Uncovered a secondum ASD during his AF ablation. So what did we do?..obtained PV isolation and then mapped the ASD completely. The EAM ‘ASD diameter’ correlated well with TEE imaging. New way to obtain ASD anatomy and plan for closure, if necessary ? @hantla @bbkaffeine @vswarup1

The ‘Amulet’ (Left Atrial Appendage Occluder) trial was published in Circulation today. AZHRC is second largest enrolling site in this pivotal trial. ‘Non-inferior to the Watchman, but superior in LAA occlusion’. Congrats Vijendra Swarup MD & Amulet IDE investigators!@vswarup1
