They all come together ready for their trip into space at Kourou, French Guiana. Before it even leaves the Earth, an Ariane 6 rocket will have covered thousands of kilometers, on roads, rivers & the ocean. It’s a real European road trip with space as the ultimate destination.

The core stage is assembled at Les Mureaux, with its cryogenic fuel tanks. The upper stage, & notably some of its avionics equipment, is built in Bremen. Other assemblies like the solid-fuel boosters that are made in Italy, meet up with the other components across the Atlantic.

📍 Vernon, Les Mureaux, Bremen, Kourou… To understand how Ariane 6 is built you have to take a trip round Europe. Each Ariane 6 component bears the stamp of several countries. The engine is created at Vernon, where it is designed, assembled and tested.
