Naima rose to fame when she met director Hussein Fawzi, who chose her to co-star in his film Al-Eish wal-Melh. In 1958, Naima Akef was awarded the title of Best Dancer in the World at the World Youth Festival in Moscow, where contestants from 50 countries took part.
