Dropping 1000 players in nine months between Spotlight events is a resounding rejection of forcing players to put up with shitty formats. Nadu and Vivi were both given far longer leashes than they deserved. The need for change was obvious in both cases. #mtg
Spotlight, Standard, Baltimore: 470 players (-200 from Spotlight Orlando) Reducing confusion (e.g. via rigid ban timelines) is a worthy goal in the abstract, but it competes with other goals much more pertinent to the customer experience (e.g. healthy formats).
